She brings it together.
She takes it apart.
It’s part of the story.
The teachings, sometimes hard.

She gives the experience.
Through her, we feel the Source.
Unleashing a heart-felt passion.
As we follow her guided course.

Sometimes, the love gets stronger.
Sometimes, the heart cracks in two.
Sometimes, the relationship lasts longer.
Sometimes, it has never been true.

The journey that was had,
and the meaning it had attached.
Experiences good or bad.
They come with what was matched.
Lovers
Sometimes things break apart.
Sometimes that’s the Beginning. A new start.
Sometimes the moment is light.
Sometimes the darkness. A bitter fight.
Sometimes we kiss and make out.
Sometimes we yell really loud.
Sometimes the story gets old.
Sometimes something new is being told.
Sometimes we feel lost and alone.
Sometimes we are together as One.
The idea for the painting came from a piece of work I did for MACC Studio.
A music video produced for 'Softly Leaving' with music composed by Craig Fraser. I helped to create the visual story for the song. The music video was promoted at the 'Warrandyte Film Feast' in 2017 as a short film. I created the promotional artwork that featured the main characters of the music video, a fighting couple inside a heart that is breaking apart.

Softly Leaving music video - the story
The video tells the dramatic and haunting story of a couple, and the times they have shared, primarily in their inner city home. The story follows a man who is reflecting back on both the good times and the bad he has shared in this relationship with his girlfriend.
As we relive these moments it is evident that perhaps one of them has come to understand their love for one another is “softly leaving’, while the other may yet
hold some hope and still wish to fight for it.
In between we see tarot cards laid out on a table, perhaps foretelling something yet to come. What have the cards predicted and is this couples fate already predestined?
In the visually exciting yet dark, film noir like setting of their home there are plenty
of highs, and lows including some dramatic teary moments.
And there’s a twist too - of course. Who will be the one to leave their home first and
who will be left behind?
